Chinese Garlic Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (mixed with 1 tablespoon water)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sugar. Stir to mix well.
  2. Simmer: Heat the mixture over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Allow it to cook for 2-3 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  3. Thicken the Sauce: Stir in the cornstarch-water mixture and cook for another minute, or until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
  4. Finish with Sesame Oil: Remove from heat and stir in the sesame oil for an extra layer of flavor.
  5. Serve: Drizzle over your favorite stir-fries, noodles, or grilled meats for a delicious kick.
